The Island

Holbox is a tiny island located in the Caribbean Sea on the north coast of the Yucatan peninsula, Mexico. Home to less than 2,000 people, 85% of the island is uninhabited and consists mainly of sandy beaches and jungle. Holbox culture is a vibrant mix of Mexican and Caribbean influence.
The town center is brightly colored and consists of a church, boutiques, restaurants and a park. Beyond the center of town is 25 miles of untouched beach and jungle, home to coconut palm, flamingo, blue heron, ibis, osprey, giant iguanas.
Our hotel is a 10-minute walk from the center of town with its playgrounds, basketball courts, band shell, community center, restaurants, ATM, internet cafes and restaurants. There are no cars on the island, people travel by foot, bicycle and golf cart. The crime rate on Holbox is 0% and most people don't have locks on their doors.
With its secluded beaches, calm warm waters and favorable wind conditions, the island is an ideal location to learn kitesurfing. This peaceful setting is also an idyllic opportunity to deepen your existing practice or explore yoga for the first time.
