Kite Skills Prerequisite for all water courses

Kite Skills takes place in Nahant, MA and
Dorchester, MA. All kitesurfers must become expert kite flyers before
being able to ride a board. This is a land based class which is the
gateway to all
powerkite sports including, kiteboarding, snowkiting, kite buggy and
kite landboarding. In this class you will fly kites designed for land
training. The class includes a ground school discussion
which will provide the fundamentals of the sport and all necessary
safety information. You'll also learn kite techniques such as the kite
runner, power strokes and the water start technique which will prepare
you for the water. 3 students to 1 instructor. A fun and essential
class!
Pilot a power kite on land. These kites will allow you to
become a skilled kite pilot safely.
Learn how to read the wind, assess the weather conditions and
select gear for safe riding.
Understand the wind window and how to adjust the power by
kite position
Practice power kite moves and simulations which will prepare
you for the water.

Water Skills Duration: 3 hours

Water Skills takes place
in Falmouth, MA and Nahant, MA. In this class you will setup
and fly inflatable kites designed for kitesurfing. You'll be introduced
to the safety features
of the equipment. You will learn to tow your body behind the kite as if
the kite were a motor
boat. This is called body dragging and it's essential to learn the 3
types of body dragging
before trying the board. If the skills are there,
the board is introduced. These lessons are 3 students to 1 instructor
and are a ton of fun! Radio helmets and all equipment included.
Setup and launch a leading edge inflatable kite.
Drag in the water behind the kite using controlled motions
Perform an upwind body drag
Relaunch the kite from the water
Put the board on and stand up
Practice a self-rescue to know how to pack up your equipment
in the water

Advanced Water Skills with Jetski
Support
Duration: 3 hours

At the end of the Water Skills class, most students are ready to work
on
perfecting waterstarts, board stance and advanced kitesurfing technique
to
extend ride time
and work on upwind riding. Our radio communication helmets
will allow your instructor to give you feedback and coaching as you are
riding. These lessons are 2 students to 1 instructor
and include jetski support. The jetski will bring you back
upwind to where you started each time and allow you to save your energy
for
kitesurfing rather than
having to walk back upwind with the kite every time. You'll learn three
to four times faster with
the jetski towing you back upwind. This class is a must for those who
are ready to ride!

Private Lesson

The Private Lesson with Jetski Support

This class is for students who want to master their riding techniques
while being
followed by an instructor on a jetski. It is available to students who
are already doing
a proficient water start and are looking to ride upwind, or work on
transitions and
jumping. Our radio communication helmets
will allow your instructor to give you feedback and coaching as you are
riding. These lessons are 1 student to 1 instructor
and include jetski support. The jetski will bring you back
upwind so you can ride downwind again until you are riding upwind.
